As a Student Advisor you will provide students and other stakeholders with comprehensive information, advice, and guidance on all aspects of student life and wellbeing from our main enquiry desk and via telephone/email. This role is crucial in enhancing and continuously improving the student experience. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with excellent interpersonal, administrative and organizational skills. Resilience and the ability to work both independently and as part of a strong team are essential as the role can be demanding and involves working in a busy fast-paced environment particularly during peak times of the academic year.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver high standards of customer service on our main enquiry desk and via telephone/email/ online while working closely with academic Schools, other Professional Services, and external stakeholders. 

  • Utilize excellent communication skills to provide information, advice, and guidance to students and stakeholders, maintaining accurate records and data input in accordance with legislation and University policy. 

  • Provide administrative support to students, producing letters, relevant documentation, campus cards, transcripts, reference requests etc… 

  • Respond to student enquiries, including critical incidents, by providing practical support and making referrals to appropriate services or procedures. Recognize the impact of incidents and raise concerns when necessary. 

  • Contribute to the delivery of events and activities, including at open days and student welcome and induction 

  • Participate in project work and share good practices with colleagues across the University, including proactive promotion of general health and wellbeing. 

  • The post holder is required to work flexibly on- and off-campus as appropriate, to ensure students have the necessary support. This may include some evening and weekend work.
